Description
Artist Teresa Villegas has been awarded an Artists Project Grant from the NEA and the Arizona Commission for the Arts for her Installation titled "La Loteria: An Exploration of Mexico" This Installation contains 54 small oil paintings on wood panel, depicting images and words in Spanish expressing the artists experiences of living in and celebrating the culture of Mexico. The format of the Installation is based on the traditional and popular Mexican bingo game called "La Loteria". This Installation is a traveling exhibition, beginning in Mexico, then touring within the US. It is the artists intent, through this artwork, to create dialog between the people of the United States and the people of Mexico.
