Template talk:Stub

Could someone tell me the intended usage for this template? "Stub" is a Wikipedia term, yes? How does it apply here? All our Bot-created pages would be a stub, but I'm not sure what the point of this template is. TedErnst | talk 03:08, 24 September 2007 (PDT)

You have a very good point! I can't think of a good enough answer at the moment (I'm rushing and I need to get to music class on time), but one place where I think it might be used is a starter definition. (Not bot-created)
Stub is a Wikipedia term? Hmm, always thought it was a general wiki term.

I've never seen "stub" used on any other wiki. I'm not saying it's not also used elsewhere now, but it was my understanding that it originated at Wikipedia, or at least became popular there. I'm not sure how it applies to this wiki. We want a culture here where everypage is an invitation to edit and make it better. TedErnst | talk 11:05, 3 October 2007 (PDT)
I know several private MediaWiki based sites that use the stub template to flag pages created by bots so that a human editor can verify the information and add/correct anything on it if necessary before removing the template.--Joey 13:26, 3 October 2007 (PDT)

I am interested in us creating something in this vein, but I find stub to not work for me at this wiki. Perhaps, Initial Canvas, paint at will? :-) MarkDilley
