WHAT TO EXPECT
Here are some tips for your visit:
- Have layered clothing. We're by the ocean, so there's always a breeze. But the sun is golden and warm in abundance.
- Wear comfortable clothing, we're having a non-formal celebration. Dress for warm temperatures, but also be prepared with a sweater and maybe something to keep your legs warm to protect you from those cool sea breezes.
- Bring your camera! You won't want to miss photographing the local herd of Roosevelt Elk that live on the grounds!
- If you're a fisher, we invite you to bring your fishing rod and necessary gear to catch trout in the stocked pond.
- Homebase will be the cabin in the back of the campground property known as "Pondview Cabin", (also the location for the wedding). We will be staying there Thursday through Sunday morning, so come and visit!
Gift Registry
We're registered at Target. You can click the link to see our account selections. Beyond Target, there are two preferred forms of gift that would really please us: music and cash. Have new or old music that will be new to us? Please share it. We want music- especially world music. Know an incredible Ethiopian jazz conductor/composer from the 70's with amazing horn lines? How 'bout an upcoming folk artist whose melodies you just can't get out of your head? Maybe a soundtrack from an old film that you like to dance in the kitchen to? We want to hear it!!! Particularly interesting to us these days: gypsy music! And of course, if you want to be the straightforward gifter, this couple would appreciate any financial contributions to help us dance onward to the next stage of our lives together.
Lodging
Helpful Hints
The following information covers the seven closest towns where you might like to find lodging during your visit: Trinidad, Blue Lake, McKinleyville, Arcata, Eureka and Orick. Of all the options, we would encourage you to consider Trinidad for lodging - it's a small town by the sea, and it's perfect for a few days visit, tranquil, friendly, astounding views of the bay with jutting rocks, and a wonderful little eatery called the Trinidad cafe and eatery. There's a local museum that documents the town's history where the local women play bridge while you browse, amazing rocks, the opportunity for climbing around on dunes if you like, and two really hip little tourist shops for pretty things at reasonable prices.
If you're planning to camp, please plan to camp for at least one night with us on the Redwood Trails @ Stone Lagoon campgrounds, that would be the option with the most fun and support inherent. If you are looking at motels, hotels and inns, we recommend you find a town that will be the most comfortable fit for you according to our short descriptions, and then look at the options available in that town. We've marked them with signifiers: foody or not foody (ie,there are good food options and interesting restaurants or not) and tourist-friendly or not (meaning there's stuff to look at, and amenities for the roaming spirit of a visitor.)

Use the following list to find the lodging closest to the wedding site, then check the discount sites (hotwire, expedia, travelocity etc.) for reduced rates! At the bottom of the list are some URL's that will take you to a Google search page.
