Our purpose at www.stopspam.org is to provide a repository of information on how you can help identify, protect yourself from, and stop various internet abuses, such as Unsolicited Commercial/Bulk Email or ECP/EMP [Excessive Cross/Multi Posting] of Usenet Messages [all commonly known as "Spamming"], Make Money Fast Chain Letters, Rogue Sites, Open Proxies & Mail Relays, Email Worms, Trojans & Viruses, and Javascript Traps, etc., as well as how to report and fight back if you are the victim of one of these types of abuse. There is information on this site for everyone from the brand new net-newbie through experienced system administrators looking for tips, tools, code or patches.

Caveat: Internet abuse, as we are concerned with here, is abuse OF the internet, not abuse ON the internet. If it has to do with something that is considered to be abusive to the various systems involved in the cooperative effort that is the internet, then it is a subject to be dealt with here. If, however, it is something that is merely abusive or offensive to a single person or group of people, then it is not abuse OF the internet, it is abuse ON the internet and will not be dealt with here.
