Introduction to StenoGlyphs
We coin each representation of a steno-consonant or steno-consonant-combination a StenoGlyph of Stenography (as introduced in StenoWiki ).
To represent Vocals within StenoGlyphs, we use in MultiSteno three different orthogonal variations of the glyphs:
- unstressed | stressed (..0 |..1 ) digits in the third position
- baseline-script | subscript | superscript (.0. |.1. |.2. ) digits in the middle position
- normal-horizontal-length | extended-horizontal-length ( 0.. | 1 .. ) digits in the first position
In our tables StenoConsonants we currently show only glyphs in baseline-script AND normal-print (=unstressed) AND normal-horizontal-length. So this table shows StenoGlyphs of type (000) (Later we can expand this concept into the 9 other types 001, 010, 011, 012, 100, 101, 110, 111, 012 and some additional shortcuts ) as made explicit in StenoConsonantsGerman and StenoConsonantsEnglish
Note: The design decision for expressing the type (..0 |..1 ) (normal|bold instead of darker|lighter for each glyph in the table) allows us to use later arbitrary colors. So we have more expressive power for opening up stenographic calligraphy.
