- What is SPLRA?
- The SPLRA stands for "Smashing Pumpkins Live Recording Association". It is a group of fans, tapers, and traders that work towards the taping, surfacing, and circulation of concerts from The Smashing Pumpkins and related artists (Zwan, Billy Corgan, Jimmy Chamberlin Complex, Starchildren). The original project was started on September 1st, 1997 and was abandoned on September 11th, 1999. The current incarnation of this site is only related in name, and purpose, it does not include the original staff, or maintainters. This time around the original name was "Live Smashing Pumpkins", however, it didn't roll of the tounge as nicely as SPLRA and was changed with the permission of Starla.org owner Milan de Jong. Inspired by other band's wonderful communities we aim to produce a bonding communty and one thats open to new ideas and the further circulation, retrieval, and taping of shows. With your help, we too can have a robust and fantastic community dedicated to sharing non-commercial music (live shows, unreleased studio).
