- Sheridan Telecommunications research began in May of 2001. It grew out of the faculty and students of the Telecommunications Technology program at Sheridan Institute of Technology. Initial funding was provided by a grant from the ORDCF matched by corporate sponsors. Currently we are supported by a grant from OCE Technology Readiness Program. From the start the main objectives were to academically enrich the Telecommunications Technology program curriculum and to find a research niche with industry partnerships.
