A history of the Society of Floristry
The Society of Floristry Limited was formed as a limited company in the year 1951 and over the years has grown to become highly respected with a most prestigious profile within the industry.
One of the Founder Members, Anne Lewis, became the Society's very first President and like her fellow members was a great advocate for the introduction of examinations.
Whilst it was never the intention that the Society of Floristry should become involved in training but only to set high standards, it quickly became evident from the failures of the initial examinations, that some form of preperation was needed.
