As parents, we were very alarmed at the ever-increasing low reading scores amongst U.S. students. Our research indicated that 50% of all high school graduates read at only a 4

grade! That’s essentially ILLITERATE. And, despite more money being poured into schools for special education, we weren’t seeing the illiteracy rate going down.

In 2000, we decided to jump into this, ourselves, to find a solution. As moms, we knew that we weren’t alone in our concerns and the more we talked to other moms, the more committed we were to figuring out how to ensure that ALL kids can learn English and learn to read. We talked our husbands into using their business experience to help us in our endeavor, creating our parent company, Bright Sky Learning, LLC
