PAF – A Multisensory Orton-Gillingham Based Reading Program
Description
Preventing Academic Failure (PAF) is a program for teaching reading, spelling, and handwriting in grades K-3. It has been proven successful in over 25 years of use in public and private schools. Thousands of children, many with learning disabilities, have learned to read thanks to PAF.
PAF is based on the latest scientifically based research from the National Institute of Child Health and Development and validated by the National Reading Panel. It is designed as an early intervention program to ensure success for ALL beginning readers.
PAF is a unique program because, unlike conventional reading programs, it integrates reading, spelling and handwriting into cohesive lessons. Multisensory associations are taught between the sounds the children HEAR, the letters they SEE and the letters they WRITE.
