Monday was a very important day for vocations in our home parish, St. Catharine of Siena in the Diocese of Allentown, Pennsylvania. After the 8:00 am Mass until 9:00 pm, we had Adoration of the Holy Eucharist. Although a weekly practice, this particular day was important because this week our parish was the home of the monstrance that Pope John Paul II blessed for Eucharistic Adoration in North America. Many people from our parish and the surrounding parishes of the deanery spent time praying for vocations to the priesthood and the consecrated life. The Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary from our parish school brought several classes of students to Adoration, and used the occasion to speak about the importance of vocations.
