Title

Sea Dog Sailing Schools in the British Virgin Islands and the Caribbean

Description

CAPTAIN STACEY BROOKS has a genuine love for teaching, and is looking forward to sharing the beauty of the British Virgin Islands with you. Holding a 100 Ton USCG Merchant Marine Officer License and current STCW for operation in international waters and with extensive experience to boot, Stacey managed one of the largest sailing clubs in the southeast, watching over a fleet of 30 boats and 500 club members. She has also sailed the waters of Corsica, New Zealand, United States, France, Italy, Spain, England, Greece, and the entire Caribbean chain to Grenada. Throughout Stacey's lifetime she has lived (and sailed!) more than 8 years in Europe — including living several years in Germany, working for three years in London, and living/studying in France for two and a half years. She is greatly looking forward to sharing the wonders of these magical British Virgin Islands with you on your learning sailing vacation with Sea Dog Sailing!

An avid sailor for 25 years, Louize's passion for sailing began in Cape Cod, Montreal (in French!), and Upstate New York, sailing the cold northern waters, occasionally having to knock the icicles off the boat! Exotic locales, crystalline turquoise waters, smooth white sand beaches, and balmy tradewinds now surround her sailing ventures. Louize has been racing auxiliaries at local regattas for numerous years; was the Cruising Fleet Director of a local sailing club (where the club's annual "Cruiser of the Year" Award was formally named after her); and is the owner of a racer/cruiser sailboat recently voted "Favorite Overall Cruiser" in a local "2004 Tour of Boats". Presently working towards her Captain's License, Louize is an ASA Certified Sailing Instructor (BKB level), has studied Seamanship/Sail, Marine Electronics, Piloting, and Advanced Piloting (through the United States and Canadian Power & Sail Squadrons) and attended ProCaptain's seminars. She is renowned for her cruising cuisine, best described as "The Painted Table" gourmet. Her training as a graphic designer lends itself to beautifully prepared, carved and presented fare. Even when the boat is heeling, you will be amazed at what can come out of the galley! Fluent in French, a public speaker and a natural teacher, Louize loves sharing her sailing passion with new students, introducing them to the sheer beauty of riding the wind.

A truly knowledgeable and experienced sailing master, Captain John Leggett has cruised and taught sailing in the coastal waters of Florida and the Caribbean enough years to affectionately call them 3home,2 and to give you an extraordinary sailing tour, complete with the history and exotic local flavour of the Islands.
