The idea of Scots Community was born when I began to trace my family tree. There was so much I wanted to know, but had to jump from site to site to pick up snippets here and there. So I thought I would try and gather the type of information I was looking for all on the one site.
Tracing my actual ancestors was the easy part, but when I wanted to find out things about their lives; where and how they lived, how they thought and things like that, I didn't always want to read a whole book to find these things. So that is when I came up with the idea of this site. I have taken many items from books and attempted to place them in relevant areas of interest, and will in time link them to corresponding articles.
I have in fact creared this site myself, so the Us above isn't really correct, although since the site began I have had many emails about what the visitors to the site are looking for, and have had bits and bobs sent to me to add to the site. Many thanks to all of you, and keep them coming.
