Savoy is an American-Norwegian band by nature, with a guitar-based sound. Their music is influenced by the sixties and the nineties, their song writing male is in structure and female in feel.

The combination of the band members different personalities and backgrounds results in a diverse repertoire of songs. Their first album, Mary Is Coming (1996) is very guitar-oriented and shows a backbone of strong, simple songs. Their second, Lackluster Me (1997), flirts with a variety of styles and the guitars have been toned down, producing a more melodic, sometimes even atmospheric sound.

Their third, Mountains of Time (1999), holds a collection of solid pop songs yet it is anything but poppy. This album went platinum in Norway and received top scores from music reviewers all over the country.
