- I've been reflecting recently on what motivates me. Why is it that I'm drawn to quotes such as 'be the change you wish to see in the world' or 'life is either a daring adventure or nothing'? Why am I deeply inspired by people acting as prophetic voices of change in our world? Why does the deepening conversation about the role of design in transformation move me at a fundamental level? There is so much talk on design forums and in design magazines challenging designers to step up and both own their skills as well as use them to change the world around them. What happens when you insert the variable of being a Christian? At the moment, in this discipline, it feels like the Church doesn't get it yet. And in some ways, I don't get it yet either. I don't really know how to integrate the two. I now realise that design is less neutral than I once thought. Which means my faith must enter somewhere... I want to be a part of BIG change. The problem is that the path is dark and obscure. Where am I headed?
