Dave Gibson has been fishing the waters around Sanibel and Captiva since 1974, & a year-round resident starting in 1979. As a full time guide for the past 13 years, he has guided thousands of anglers to fishing memories that will last a lifetime. Specializing in flyfishing and light tackle he targets mostly tarpon, snook and redfish in the Pine Island Sound- Charlotte Harbor area around Sanibel and Captiva. An instructional guide , Dave can get that beginning fly-rodder started out properly, as well as hone the skills of the experienced caster with the ever important “small details”. Light tackle 8-10 lb. test is the norm , with 20 lb. test line in tight situations for snook or grouper. 20 lb. is also his tackle of choice for tarpon , the silver king. Dave can supply all the tackle or bring your own. All first rate tackle including Action Craft 1720 flats boat, Yamaha outboard, Fin-Nor reels, Diamondback rods, and Solitude fly reels by Harris. Whether stalking tailing redfish on the flats, battling a monster snook along the mangrove edge, or casting a fly to a school of giant tarpon, Dave has the charter just for you.
