Russia is a fascinating and beautiful place to visit no matter when you decide to go. Summer time is pleasant and hot (up to 35 celsius) and Winter is cold with temperatures sometimes reaching minus 30. This is a rarity and most of the Winter the temperature hovers a few degrees below zero. Winter is great for those crystal clear skies, uncrowded museums, clean air and excellent photographic conditions. Summer is busier but the fountains are switched on and the cities really come to life. So Russia is a year round travel destination, you will love it whenever you go.
Moscow and St.Petersburg are 3 hours ahead of the UK so your departure and arrival times (in both directions) will look strange but remember all ticket times are local.
