- Founded in 1980 and formerly known as the "Friends of Lincoln Park Boat Club" and the "Chicago Union Rowing and Paddling Foundation", the Chicago Rowing Foundation is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization that fosters rowing and paddling via education and outreach to disadvantaged groups throughout the Chicagoland area. Coordinating community participation and competitions, as well as developing suitable launch sites and boathouses are also a major focus. The activities of Chicago Rowing Foundation take place along the vast waterways of the Chicago River. See the organization's current Board of Directors.
