Roots of Motive Power
Description
Visiting Roots: Roots is located 140 miles north of San Francisco just east of Highway 101. The public is welcome to tour the collection at no charge during work days which are generally held on the first and third Sundays of each month from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Please email Roots to confirm the schedule before visiting. See the Events Schedule for additional Roots activities.
Membership Application: Roots has more than 300 members, many of whom are actively maintaining and restoring equipment, building track, serving as officers and directors, writing and editing the newsletter, photographing events, updating the web site and serving as docents and librarians for the Railroad History Project.
How You Can Help: In addition to joining Roots and volunteering for one of the many activities, there are numerous additional ways to support Roots, such as donations of equipment to the collection, donations of materials and services, endowment funds and matching grants.
