Gold Beach is a lovely seaside community approximately 35 miles north of the California border on Highway 101. The scenery as you drive into Gold Beach from either the North or the South is spectacular! Two of the most dramatic and beautiful stretches of seashore along the entire Oregon Coast are the 27 miles North and 27 miles South of Gold Beach!
Gold Beach has abundant public beach access and miles of sandy beaches to walk along, collect seashells, agate hunt etc. The mighty Rogue River enters the ocean at Gold Beach and offers even more beauty and adventure. Along with jetboating up the river into the Wild and Scenic Rogue canyon to Agness, ocean and river fishing are quite popular. As a matter of fact, Gold Beach is known world wide for both!
Hiking is also very popular here in Gold Beach and many excellent trails are available to the traveler - whether you prefer hiking along the beach or mountainsides overlooking the ocean, or hiking through old growth forests dense with ferns and rhododendrons - Gold Beach has it all!
