Located on the banks of the Clinch River below Norris Dam and Norris Lake, River Ridge Farm offers a variety of experiences:
- You can enjoy a picnic and go fishing.
- Join one of our draft horse pulled wagon tours to see the farm, fall colors, wild flowers, moonlit nights, or go caroling.
- Guided horseback trail rides are here!
- While you are here take advantage of opportunities to meet farm animals.
- There are also facilities for a rustic retreat for family reunions, company or church cookouts or other group meetings.
We are located in Anderson County, 30 minutes North of Knoxville, Knox County and just 3 miles from exit 122 of I-75 (same exit as the Museum of Appalachia). Click here for directions.
We are situated to offer you exceptional views of the Clinch River Valley in the eastern part of Tennessee and the surrounding Cumberland Mountains to the north and west and (on a clear day) the Great Smokey Mountains to the south.
We bought 40 acres of a former dairy farm in 1980. On our working farm we raise beef cattle, chickens for eggs, and a market garden. We participate in the farmer's market in Norris, Tn. in season. Learning about draft horses and working them has been a part of our lives since 1997. We use our horses to work our market garden, rake hay, light logging, gather firewood, feed our livestock in winter and for wagon rides.

Additional Information
The 1-hour horseback trailride takes you across the ridge with a view of the Cumberlands and the Clinch River Valley down to the river and along its banks.
We will ride through our hayfield and pasture on the top of River Ridge and on through upland oak and maple forests, moist river bluff and river bottom meadow. On a clear day you can see from the Cumberland and Windrock Mountains to the Smokies .
Rides are available all year, rain, snow, cold or heat, though during inclement weather the route may change for safety.
Cost: $25.00 per person. Reservations required: Call or emailto arrange your time with us.
