Hello, my name is Randall R. Gregory . My specialty is making bamboo fly rods via conventional and traditional methods. I have been making rods since 1995 as a regional rod maker. Before that I restored bamboo fly rods(since 1993). I currently make bamboo fly rods on a full time basis so that I can offer the customer a top quality rod and maintain quick delivery of my rods. All of my rods are made by me, right here in my shop (In the Good Ole USA) . I do not buy my blanks from other sources. I do not offer my rods via dealers(at this time) in order to maintain the affordability of my rods.("Some" rodmakers inflate their prices to compensate for 30% going to dealers) I do not. I am a long term member of the "Bamboo Rod Makers List". A site where rod makers share a wealth of knowledge, tips, and ideas that were not available to rodmakers of the past. This resource helps the focused and dedicated rodmaker to produce a well built bamboo fly rod. It also allows me to continue to upgrade the long term life of a rod through modern day use of technology. I enjoy making bamboo fly rods and my best effort goes into every rod. I feel "Consistency of Quality" is key in the crafting of a well made rod. Each bamboo fly rod is made here in the Ozarks. Home of the famous White river.

I started making bamboo fly rods because I wanted something more from the rods I fished. Something I could not get from graphite rods. I wanted a rod with a personality designed for "ME". I guess you are here because you have an interest in a well crafted, custom, bamboo fly rod as well. Ask yourself this, “Why would you like a split bamboo fly rod?” Is it to extend your experience in fly-fishing? To slow down a little and enjoy the better things in life? Would you like to be able to get a finely crafted cane fly rod with great functionality and a nice touch of elegance? Would you like to be able to get such a fly rod and know that it will serve you and yours for many years to come? Something within your personal budget? Well, I am glad to say that I can provide that service for you.

I have worked very hard over the years to perfect the quality, and the cosmetics of the fly rods that I make. I take a very large amount of pride from making my fly rods and seeing the pleased look upon the recipients face. Now you’re probably asking,” What about Quality?” I spend the same amount of time on the basic fundamentals of each fly rod. No rushing. No shortcuts. Only the highest quality materials are used on every cane fly rod. Every fly rod must meet only the highest level of craftsmanship prior to leaving my shop. I will be glad to answer any and all questions that you might have about my history as a rod maker and the rods that I make. I also maintain a logbook of all rod sales and the recipient of that rod. From time to time I have a rod that I might sell on EBAY, so feel free to review my seller feedback(saltfly). What about lead times(delivery times)? I don't over inflate my delivery dates to make myself look better. Some rod makers do. I hate to have to say that. I will be glad to talk to you about my current work load and how it will impact your rod delivery. I currently try to maintain no more than a 3 month window. I only allow about 1 week of buffer on rod orders to allow for an act of God sickness etc etc. If for any reason your rod is delayed you are notified immediately. I intend to maintain my reputation as a rod maker and consistent quality is my means to do so. I will be glad to give contacts of other owners of my rods(unless that client requests for me not to give out their number,which I will do respectfully).
