If you find us on the map - Kilmersdon - you'll see we are right in the north of the county of Somerset. We are the village famous for being the home of the Jack and Jill nursery rhyme. In fact you have probably passed through our village on the way to somewhere...
And then in 1997, we discovered something very special; a way to bring the community together, and not just the local residents, but our neighbours in the surrounding villages. People from the nearby towns of Radstock and Midsomer Norton and Frome travelled to our village and we even had people from Glastonbury and Street, 30 miles away, drive to Kilmersdon on a Friday evening...to come to the film society!
Bath & Bristol have multi screen and multiplex cinemas but the local cinema at Midsomer Norton closed about 12 years ago. A trip to the cinema is expensive, the journey is at least 25 minutes, parking often difficult (particularly in Bath) and the audience feels, well, insignificant.
