My ankle isn't doing nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I retwisted it at soccer practice on Thursday night - we were practicing in a really rutted field, and after taking a practice shot on net, I stepped down into a divet in the ground and my left ankle just collapsed under my weight. The pain was pretty pretty awful (nothing like feeling a tendon/ligament/whatever actually stretch past it's comfortable point), but I think I was focusing on the issue that I'd already severely sprained this ankle less than two months ago and it still wasn't quite right (fine to play on, but it hurt when I sat with my legs crossed under me). So that made me incredibly worried that I'd resprained it again when it hadn't fully healed the first time and now I was going to be severely fucked for soccer for the rest of the season. I was rolling on the ground, slamming my hands into the ground right after it happened because I was so pissed it had happened AGAIN. Luckily, one of my teammates actually had breakable ice handy, so I broke that, and wrapped it around my ankle using a soccer sock. The ice seems to have done an amazing job because there was barely any swelling. It's a little tender at the moment, but I can stand without any problems. And I've got two days off from soccer so that should help. But holy crap, scary! I think I've actually strained a different area than what had been sprained before, because what swelling there is, isn't in the same place as before. And considering how badly my ankle was before, had I damaged it in the same area again, I don't think I'd be walking right now.
