Queens Head Hotel Berwick-upon-Tweed
Description
A Short History
The Queen's Head Hotel dates back to the 1790’s so over the years it has seen many changes. At one point it was two drinking holes ‘The Nags Head’ and ‘The old Nags Head’ and they merged together to become the Queen's Head in 1924, although it has mostly been family run it has not been by the same family. Sandgate has changed too, the old corn exchange was directly opposite the Hotel and was then made into the local swimming pool which has now been developed into luxury apartments. In 1967 the Queen's Head became the Queen's Head Hotel.
