Maria Pukownik has thirty years of experience in conservation of fine art and paper after receiving formal graduate and post graduate training from leading European conservation centers. Her professional career includes 10 years as chief conservator at The State Museum and Regional Historical Society Museum in Plock, Poland, private practice in Poland and Italy and 6 years as paper conservator in New England.
Currently Mrs. Pukownik is the proprietor of an art conservation laboratory near Gettysburg, Pennsylvania; providing comprehensive conservation services to institutions, private collectors and leading dealers in early American art.
Mrs. Pukownik specializes in works of art on paper, and is also extensively trained and experienced in the complete treatment of paintings. She is also skilled in cleaning, seamless repairs, reconstructions, painting in all traditional techniques, book repair and bookbinding.
