Description
The Historic Preservation Society of Durham has operated since 1974 as a volunteer organization achieving a regional reputation as one of North Carolina's outstanding historic preservation non-profits. HPSD's mission is to preserve the history, architecture, and cultural heritage of Durham and Durham County and to serve as an institution for the education of citizens through the promotion and appreciation of this heritage.
As a result of the Society's efforts, Durham has developed a stronger sense of its heritage and many significant preservation initiatives have come to fruition.
HPSD's offices are in the historic Snow Building, 331 W. Main Street, in the heart of the Downtown Durham Historic District. Our mailing address is PO Box 25411, Durham, NC 27702-5411.
