This website originally had nothing to do with platypuses. Nothing whatsoever. We just thought that a platypus would be the perfect mascot for the site. It is such a peculiar creature, seemingly slapped together at random from many completely unrelated and diverse parts. It's almost as if someone had built an animal out of spare parts left lying around in an old garage. Since that was what we were doing when we first started this website, the Playpus seemed like a fitting and proper representative.
