Plastic Soup :: Liverpool Music & Popular Culture Magazine

Description

Intro

Plastic soup was started in august 2005, a collaboration by two like-minded friends to give a new twist on primarily the music scene in Liverpool, but to stretch that to the rest of the world and other forms of popular culture also. Paul Burkey, Liverpool listings guru and founder of Outlar.com, and Jimmy Coultas, promoter and resident of Superfly and aspiring local music journalist, began discussing the ways in which the site could be developed. Agreeing on opinions being the way forward, they began recruiting a team of writers and experts to provide reviews, columns, articles and above all opinionated discussion on the music scene in Liverpool.

With one foot on the dancefloor, clubbing and the rave tentacles that spawned from it began as the main focus, but the greater music scene was also promised coverage, with rock gigs and indie club nights being investigated too. And it isn’t all just about Liverpool, the writers are being sent on regular reconnaissance missions around the globe to find out what beats at the heart of music fans around the planet.
