Outlar Introduction
The Outlar web site is focused on Electronic and Dance Music events in Liverpool, UK. The site was originally created in 2004 by Paul Burkey, a computer games programmer and web developer from Liverpool with a love of the electronic music scene and community spirit that surrounds it. In the first two years the site has expanded to over 15,000 pages of information on events past and future in Liverpool as well as information on related artists and music productions. The site currently serves half a million pages every month.
In 2005 an Outlar sister site (PlasticSoup.com) was opened with an aim to provide reviews, interviews and general music and culture journalism. So far PlasticSoup has worked with and/or interviewed likes of Jeff Mills, DJ Craze, Underground Resistance, DJ Premier and Kevin Saunderson.
