PCB Originals was formed in 1997 after its founders, Kay Gwathney and Shiree McCarver discovered that they had a gift for creating items for their fashion dolls. It all started with the frustration of searching for playscale items to use in their fashion doll displays. The only thing that seem to be out there was a frustrating supply of pink and purple foods and items. They decided these products just wouldn't do!
Shiree has been a collector since childhood and Kay realized her love for the fashion doll as an adult. That shows us all that it's never too late to listen to the child inside. It didn't take the ladies long before they were utilizing skills they weren't aware they possessed. The skill to create beautiful miniature product with their hands.
At first it was for purely selfish reasons and as they began to complete their displays, they still felt the need to create. Soon their fellow collecting friends started receiving handcrafted playscale gifts and before you know it the word was out and PCB Originals was formed.
