About Us
Passions of Paradise II is a Great Barrier Reef snorkelling and diving cruise which has been operating since 1989. We travel to Michaelmas Cay and Paradise Reef. For more than 14 years, we have shared in the fun and excitement of taking passengers on a really special journey.
However, sailing and great reef destinations is not just what this company is all about. We are a local company, owned and operated by three business partners who live with their families in Cairns. We were particularly proud when we reached a personal milestone in 2003 and took delivery of a new $2 million sailing cat. After more than 3 years poring over plans and studying designs, building and modifying, (and being nice to the bank manager) Passions of Paradise is custom built to our exact specifications of what we wanted on the reef. And, although the boat is in survey for 100 passengers, because we value the need to provide a truly unique and personalized experience, we limit numbers on the boat to no more than 80.
No company however is ever a success without fantastic crew and our crew, with a ratio of 1 to every 9 passengers, are the best. Fun, caring, and always around to make you laugh, they are the best examples of our unique Australian way of life.
