This will undoubtedly be the most exciting year in the history of Omagh College with the opening of the new College facility in October 2005. This new facility, costing in the region of £20 million, boasts over 15,000 square metres of state-of-the-art academic accommodation.
The new intake of students in September/November 2005 will be able to avail of impressive Student Support facilities, which include a Learning Resource Centre, a Student Social Area, a modern Cafeteria, and a Crèche. In addition to the exemplary classroom and teaching facilities there are commercial facilities on campus to provide students of the College with a real-live-work environment open to the general public. The College’s Vocational Trainees will also benefit from specialised training facilities designed to support the trainee’s particular vocational curriculum needs. The College has also installed a pioneering Information and Communication Technology system to keep students updated with College news and activities on a daily basis.
The new College also boasts impressive conferencing facilities, which are available for use by the general public, and are supported by a chic restaurant overlooking the Strule River and the forthcoming Arts Centre.
