NWONE - Northwest Organization of Nurse Executives

Description

The Northwest Organization of Nurse Executives [NWONE] exists to advance the health and wellness of individuals and the communities in which its members live and work through the continual development of its members as leaders of the clinical discipline of nursing and specialists in administrative practice. It is an Oregon and Washington-based affiliated local group [ALG] of the American Organization of Nurse Executives.

The Northwest Organization of Nurse Executives was formed January 1, 1996 when the Oregon Organization of Nurse Executives [OONE] and the Washington Organization of Nurse Executives merged their organizations. WONE was incorporated in 1985 as a non-profit organization; in 1996, the organization name was changed to NWONE as a result of the merger with OONE. The 350 plus current members include nurse leaders across the continuum of care and in nursing education in the states of Oregon and Washington.

NWONE is a valuable resource to its members in enhancing their leadership practice. The organization is recognized in both states and throughout the western region of the United States for proactively addressing emerging health care issues such as transforming the health care system, evidence-based practice and policy, multiskilled workers, leadership and clinical delegation skills for nurses, re-engineering and re-design, continuous quality improvement, patient-focused resourcing, tele-health, accessibility to health care training, and the healthcare workforce planning.
