AFSCME members across our region and nationwide are pulling together to support our members and their families in the Gulf Coast area, in the destructive wake of Hurricane Katrina.
Oregon AFSCME Council 75 will play host to out first regional conference for Public Safety Employees working in the states of Oregon, Washington and Alaska. Training and workshops during the conference will specifically target public safety members and their issues.
The conference agenda includes discussions of critical incident presentations and hostile work environments, and sessions on the Prison Rape Elimination Act, "Armed or Unarmed?," retirement issues and knowing your rights re. Weingarten/whistleblower incidents.
