Description
Learn more about what researchers have called "the most powerful pro-tobacco influence on kids in the world today" -- smoking in Hollywood movies.
The New Mexico Media Literacy Project -- one of the oldest and most successful media literacy organizations in the USA -- empowers children, youth and adults to become more critical consumers of media messages.
Founded in 1993, NMMLP has helped hundreds of thousands of people across the country to improve their media literacy skills. Our mission is to cultivate critical thinking and activism in our media culture to build healthy and just communities. In 2004, NMMLP distributed over 5,000 multimedia educational resources - over 500,000 lesson plans and media examples - to teachers, health workers, and community activists.
