- The Florida Main Street Program visited the City of Newberry on Tuesday, October 10, bringing the official Main Street signs that will sit in front of City Hall and on NW 252nd. Joan Jefferson, director of the Florida Main Street Program, met with city officials and the Main Street Board to discuss how the Main Street Approach can be used to revitalize downtown Newberry. The day started with the presentation of the official Florida Main Street signs that will soon be placed in prominent locations in Newberry's downtown. Newberry City Manager Keith Ashby, Mayor John Glanzer, and Main Street Manager Garry Clarke were among those on hand for the presentation. Later in the day, citizens stopped by the Newberry Municipal Building to learn more about the Main Street Approach and sign up for one of the program's five committees.
