- It all started around 1983. Back then, my mom was the office manager for KKQV - QV103 in Wichita Falls, Texas. I used to go hang around the station all the time. I would sit in and watch (bug) the on air jocks. Occasionally they would let me pull their music and cue up the records. I even got to do a few commercials. Needless to say, I got the radio bug at a very early age. I managed to get my first on-air gig at the age of 14. I basically grew up on the radio back in the 80s. I worked on and off in radio for the next 11 years, mostly in Wichita Falls, but also in Albuquerque, NM. Most recently I worked for 89.7 Power FM in Dallas. In 2004 I quit working to stay home and take care of my then one year old daughter. Even doing the most important job in the world, you can start to feel like you need something else. For me I decided to fill my need for creativity by starting lost80s.com. I registered the domain name way back in 2001 and it's taken me all this time to finally fulfill my dream of having my own radio station. This whole thing is of course a work in progress.
