NeOpuntia is a natural lipophilic fiber made from the dehydrated leaves of the Indian Fig Opuntia cactus, which is often referred to as prickly pear. In addition to assisting weight loss, this plant has also been used to cure hangovers and regulate blood sugar in diabetics. In 1996, a French research company began looking into Indian Fig Opuntia as a possible weight loss aid. Research and development scientists found that the fibers in the leaves were able to bind to fat more efficiently than other substances they tested, such as Chitosan.
