We have listed the activities that we found worthwhile in order to make it easier for you to prepare for your holidays. Furthermore we like Switzerland to get the attention that it deserves. It is a beautiful country where you will most certainly feel at home if you like peace and quiet, nature and hiking.
Despite our many trips to Switzerland, our knowledge is limited. Therefore one region is described more detailed than the other. Although the tips on the website should be more than enough for a long holiday in Switzerland, not all of the information may be as detailed as you might like. Therefore we have also listed links to other useful websites. Our trips were mainly in summer. This site does not provide much information about winter sports, although most people probably know Switzerland pre-eminently as a winter sports country. This site should make clear that this country has a lot to offer in summer as well.
Our tips mainly concentrate on hiking and points of interest related to nature. We also pay attention to travelling in Switzerland, because it is a great way to view the landscape. Many hikes and points of interest are accompanied with an indication about how to get there. We often only talk about public transport because we have some good experiences with it and it is an environmentally friendly way to travel that fits this beautiful country well. Furthermore, the (train) routes crossing the mountainous areas are often spectacular and an experience in itself. However, most places can be well reached by car. We have mentioned it in case we know otherwise.
