Billy over at Albanystage.com is floating the rumor of a very surprising disbanding of local favs, Oshe. Their tourdates page lists a show this Friday in Maine as the last scheduled, with the remainder of February's dates shown as canceled.
Albanystage.com says the show this Thursday downstairs at Valentine's will be their last. I haven't been able to confirm anything personally, but if true, this would be very disappointing! The departure of bassist Ken Love last year left the young band having to re-find their groove with new fulltimer John Haag. They just seemed to find their stride at the last show I saw in January.
In other Albany music news, as predicted, Red Square in Albany is bringing the heat! The Benevento/Russo Duo has been confirmed with an April 5 slot... the same night Medeski, Martin & Wood play an acoustic show at the Egg! Let the rumors of late night insanity begin!
