Joanne Lax is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Michigan Law School and is Dykema Gossett’s primary adoption attorney. She has been a practicing attorney since 1978, and began doing adoption legal work in 1996 when attorney-assisted private adoptions became legal in Michigan. Since then, Joanne has handled all kinds of adoptions – within Michigan; between two states; between the U.S. and the Netherlands; single parent; step-parent; intrafamily; adult; and guardian.
