Description
Architect, specifier, programmer, facilitator, and educator, Michael Chambers FAIA FCSI has 30 years experience in education, health care, government, and sports architecture. Using his broad experience in working closely with clients in pre-design, materials selection, program analysis, post occupancy evaluation, and marketing strategies, Michael offers a diverse perspective on critical design and construction issues both as a technical architect and as an educator. As a national developer and presenter of professional continuing education programs stemming from his experience writing specifications for billion dollar health care projects, sports venues, education facilities, and overseas projects, Michael uses his experience as a technical team member to show designer how to use specifications and technical analysis processes to perfect and protect their design intent.
Michael is an architectural graduate of the University of Southern California, registered architect in California and Minnesota, and a Certified Construction Specifier. He is a Fellow of AIA and CSI, is a past Chair of the national AIA/CES Providers Council, and currently serves as Vice-president of the Specification Consultants in Independent Practice (SCIP).
As an architect and specifier, Michael develops and presents a wide range of continuing education programs for design professionals, especially on the use of specifications in enforcing design intent and using Division 1 to protect design concepts from substitutions and quality assurance failures.
