- LSFCU is a not-for-profit cooperative organization of people sharing a common bond, created for the purpose of promoting thrift and providing a source of credit at a reasonable rate of interest. LSFCU was chartered in July, 1954 and formed for the employees of the Lafayette Parish School Board and as of September 2000, employees of the Acadia Parish School Board, City of Crowley employees, Acadia Parish Council on Aging are eligible to join Lafayette Schools Federal Credit Union. Students of Acadiana High School can also join. Providing a safe place for members to accumulate savings is a principle function of the credit union.
