- Local Lingo was established in March 1998 with the goal of creating an online community and a resource for those interested in the Czech Republic. The site grew faster than we ever imagined and after some four years, we saw that a badly needed reorganization and cleanup could not be put off any longer. myczechrepublic.com split off from Local Lingo in January 2003, thus enabling Local Lingo to return to its name and focus exclusively on the Czech language.
