- The Latter-day Saint Liberation Front is a site devoted to discussions of Mormonism and of worldwide egalitarian social change. Our website banner is designed to reinforce this message. Our site’s logo is a red star, in imitation of the Peruvian APRA party star in particular and of various third-world national-liberation movements and social-justice parties in general, with an image of Joseph Smith’s head embedded in it. This serves as a visual metaphor for the rich heritage of communitarian and radically egalitarian economic values within Joseph Smith’s Restoration theology. Our emphasis on finding Mormon approaches to radical social change is echoed in our site motto, which is a quotation from the description, in 4 Nephi within the Book of Mormon, of an ideal, egalitarian society in the New World after Jesus’s resurrection.
