- Founder and principal of kthread, Kristen Taylor is a freelance web designer and digital artist living in Charlottesville and Arlington, Virginia. She holds a BA in English from Davidson College and an MA in American Studies in English from the University of Virginia; her digital MA thesis is on orphan trains. Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in English at the University of Virginia (degree expected 2008), her dissertation research focuses American women artists and their textual examination, representation, and identification through and with landscape in late sentimental short stories and novels, photography in the first half of the twentieth century, and cybernavigation. She works as an Associate Editor for PBS Interactive.
