- My name is Joe Brummer and I was born in Philadelphia, Pa., raised in Southern New Jersey, and now reside in Rhode Island. I started playing the piano around five or six years old. I went on to play in a number of bands including Ricochet in southern New Jersey, back in the early 1990's. Later, I went on to play in a cover band in Rhode Island and southern New England called Sweet Surrender. We were a tribute the the artists of "Lilith Fair." We played Shawn Colvin, K.D. Lang, and of course of one of my favorite artist, Sarah McLachlan. I was also part of the folk duo "Brummer Tuthill".
