- Twitter has made quite a noise with their superb messaging system. Twitter was first used as a news/public discussion stream during the U.S presidential campaign and elections. It is in a similar way in which twitter was used as a news service during the recent Mumbai Terrorist attack. Users where twittering all kinds of information about the location of the armed forces, location of terrorists and even information that regular journalists were having a hard time gathering were being twittered by the users. The tweets became so elaborate that the Indian Government appealed to the users to stop Twittering about the incident till it was over, due to security reasons.
