Iowa Mentoring Partnership
Description
The Iowa Mentoring Partnership (IMP) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization who partners with, and is housed in the Iowa Commission on Volunteer Service (ICVS). The IMP serves to provide assistance on a statewide basis to all mentoring programs, providers, and communities who have an interest in mentoring. In addition, the IMP seeks to create a network that allows mentoring programs in Iowa to become aware of each other's programs, strengths, and resources. Finally, the IMP serves as the monitoring organization for the use of effective mentoring practices within the state.
The Iowa Mentoring Partnership will deliver resources, recruit mentors, raise awareness and enhance the quality of mentoring across the many mentoring organizations in Iowa.
Goal: Ten percent of the total population of school age children in Iowa (5-17 years) will be engaged in a mentoring relationship by 2007, resulting in 57,000 matches of mentors with mentees.
